Dr. Lexi Duscher is a Postdoctoral Research Associate for Virginia Tech located at the Virginia Seafood Agricultural Research and Extension Center (AREC) in Hampton, VA. Dr. Duscher moved from her hometown in Minnesota to St. Petersburg, FL to obtain a dual degree in Marine Biology and Environmental Studies at Eckerd College with a thesis on marine sponge microbial disease. She then received her PhD from the University of Florida where she worked on the genetic mechanisms of beneficial host-microbe interactions under stressful environments.
